I remember the first 'bad' IMHA case I ever managed as an RVN...
We're talking 5 days of intensive nursing, transfusion monitoring, respiratory support, recumbency care and then a propofol CRI...

And then 7AM CPR after a night of 1:1 nursing. With just me and one other RVN in the building.
And don't get me wrong. I know that not every IMHA case is like that - but the reality is these patients are often critical, and need a LOT of nursing support to manage their disease successfully.
The good news? It's nursing care that makes the biggest difference to their time in hospital - meaning there are TONS of skills we can use when caring for these patients.

Those skills are exactly what we're going to be developing in this webinar - so you can manage your critical IMHA cases (and your not-so-critical ones) confidently, using more of your nursing skills.
At the end of the session, you will be able to:
  • Understand what IMHA is, why it happens, and the impact it has on our patients
  • Recognise the common complications of IMHA, and spot them early - so there's more time to manage them and prevent deterioration
  • Make and evaluate blood smears and in-saline agglutination tests in IMHA patients
  • Create and implement a transfusion plan for an IMHA patient
  • Develop a critical nursing plan for an IMHA patient in your practice
